In travelling abroad one becomes acutely aware of the level of corruption in a vast number of countries. I see Mexico is in a skuttlebutt about the legitimacy of it's Pres. Who cares, the level of corruption there trumps it being Calderon, Fox or Alfred E. Neuman. It just doesn't matter.

I have friends that are from India. They say to start a business there you literally have to pay off scores of people just to start-up.

From my vantage, corruption is far more damaging than hunger/disease. It's rampant, and will continue to bog down those countries that are riddled by it. There's a few - Get a load of this map. The darker areas show deeper corruption.
