Last weekend while returning from Laurel Park, my wife and I stopped for lunch in Havre de Grace, Md., and I asked the proprietor of the cafe if she knew anything about the old Havre de Grace racetrack. She knew that Man o' War, Citation, and Seabiscuit raced there and that at one time, a survey of jockeys rated Havre de Grace the best racetrack in the country.
Is there anybody here old enough to remember the place? If so, I'd love to hear about it.
The track closed in 1950 and is now the property of the Maryland National Guard.
