Former "Phonebet TV" host dead

Anybody here from the Philly area remember Hugh Gannon? He was a sportscaster for WCAU-TV and then was a host for the Phonebet TV show from Philly Park for several years. Saw this a.m. he died on Friday at age 70.

Don't remember him from PhoneBet but he was great on Dragnet.

Very sad news!

Hugh Gannon was a consumate professional who never yelled or screamed and put himself above his job.

Too many people on TV want to "be news", rather than report news. It gets old after seeing them a few times.

Hugh Gannon also did play-by-play for all 4 sports teams at one time or another.

Unfortunately he was not related to Officer Bill Gannon (Harry Morgan) of Dragnet fame.

For those that knew him, he was much more famous than any TV character.

I think there was a horse named after Hugh Gannon

If memory serves me correctly the horses name was Admiral Gannon

I remember first watching Hugh and his attractive partner Jenny Ornsteen
