I know this has been discussed to some degree already, but I think we may need to discuss it some more.

The statements that Neteller has made about the new U.S. legislation lead me to believe that as soon as the "270 day period" is up and the new rules are in place, it is going to withdraw from the US market and will cease doing business with internet gambling sites.

I realize that horseracing has an exemption in the new laws, but that was obviously intended to permit YOUBET and other legal sites to continue doing business. It was not intended to allow Pinnacle, E-horse, and other rebate shops to do business.

As far as I can tell, most people fund their horse accounts via Neteller.

If Neteller and many other transaction processing services pull out of the US gambling market, and we can't do bank transfers to these sites, what is that going to do to our ability to play with rebates?

classhandicapper, They are several options available to obtain rebates....like IRG via youbet, casinos via comps, and NYRA rebate program. Of course, bet volume and taxes come into play with these options. But, on the bright side, you would be contributing to purses (trainers, jockeys, hot walkers), track upkeep, and continued existance of green space via the takeout from your wagers.

I understand, but obviously I would prefer to have the maximum rebate without trying to force volume etc.... I mostly play just NY. I'm not a high volume player. There are also other advantages to places like ehorse-exchange.

I hope they either fall through the cracks or legitimate efforts are made by the legal sites to catch up with the way the world really works. ;)

There is a fairly comprehensive page of who and what might be available, money-transfer-wise, at this site:

http://www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php#usapokerupdates

Although it is a poker site, it has up-to-date info on most if not all of the online deposit companies....

Cant you always just use snail mail? I realize it's slower but it has served people well for many years.

Yea, I guess you are right unless I tap out and need an immediate deposit.

I guess this is more of an issue for poker players that deposit very often at many sites trying to get reload bonuses.

You could probably set up a 4th party account. Transfer money from your bank account to 4th party. Transfer from 4th party to Neteller. Transfer from Neteller to Betting site. Problem is transaction costs.

I think a 4th party company that was also a search engine and sold advertising might be profitable without charging fees -- or maybe just minimal fees.

Also, Steve Crist of DRF mentioned that he was able to buy a telephone card then resell his telephone minutes to a poker site.

If there is a will, there is a way.

PROHIBITION didn't work last century and it won't work this century.

Everyone seems pre-occuppied with getting money INTO a place - I'd be more worried about getting it out. Make your deposit now, while you can, then, why would you ever have to put in more? I assume just keep winning and problem solved! ;)

Cashiers check via Fedex. Your money should be there the next day. And most spots wil pick up the Fedex charge.
