sounds like this guy was bad for racing,probably put the squeeze on his employees for wanting more money at the Telegraph,and then donating money to the "humanities" for an ego boost.
Why not try to have the best product for the price,and take care of your employees,then donate money if you have it.Does that sound impossible to do?

One of the parts that struck me was:

"While today's Daily Racing Form, like many other publications, has financial challenges, it is important to remember that the Form under Annenberg made a minimum of $40 million a year, probably more."

Hard to believe that the last time it sold, it was for the same amount that it used to make in a year. Somebody sure milked that cash cow dry.
