:bang:Last Monday i was at the Orlean's casino in Vegas and they had a seminar on racing with Jeff Mullins and Martin Garcia. Mullins was somewhat interesting and maybe a little cocky but all in all O.K. Garcia's english was not very good so he could not offer up much other than how he started riding. They gave out a few prizes and i got a beer mug. Afterward's they both sat down and signed autograph's on 8 x 10 pictures. The line was never less than 20 people deep and the average age had to be 65 of the people standing in line. My question .......would you stand in line for this? I mean what are these people gonna do with these pictures? And no.....i did not stand in any line!!:bang:

Mullins has a lot of gall to appear at ANY handicapping seminar/event, let alone act 'cocky' at one after what he said about players awhile back. Just unreal. :mad:

I was at the Gold Coast a week ago, and saw a notice posted in the racebook about this upcoming appearance at the Orleans... and couldn't believe it.

Why would any of us 'idiots' even want an autograph from this guy let alone stand in line 20 minutes? :D

In a related note;

Two old guys passed out in their rooms after receiving pictures and shaking hands with Mullins. After bloodwork at a local hospital they both tested positive for Mepivacaine. They were later released

one was heard to exclaim, "I can't feel my feet? " :lol: :lol:

it's a joke........son!

Let's say you are a trainer. Get the pic, show it to your horse, and tell him this is who he'll be working for if he doesn't get his ass in gear.

I would love to attend a Mullind handicapping seminar!
Considering what he said about how lousy he4 used to bet, I would just take notes with red ink.

The Orleans is a great place for horseplayers. They are able to attract quite a few Trainers and Jockeys from California to come and speak. I got a chance to hear Jerry Hollendorfer and Alex Solis there a few years ago. Both were very down to earth guys. In fact, Solis was playing blackjack with his wife the night before at one of the regular (low limit) tables.

On another occasion, I saw Laffitte Pincay walking thru the Casino, carrying his own luggage! He was there for a dinner and ceremony to celebrate him being the all-time leading jockey.
