Reminds me of the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail - "Bring out yer dead!"

JUBILANT DEMOCRATS SHOULD RECONSIDER their order for confetti and noisemakers. The Democrats, as widely reported, are expecting GOP-weary voters to flock to the polls in two weeks and hand them control of the House for the first time in 12 years -- and perhaps the Senate, as well. Even some Republicans privately confess that they are anticipating the election-day equivalent of Little Big Horn. Pardon our hubris, but we just don't see it.

It really don't amount to a rat's ass who has control, money will still be wasted to no end, corruption will still be the main stay in Washington and your life won't be any better unless you personally make it better. It's clear to me why centuries ago people were looking for a "SAVIOR" when things got so bad they were powerless to do anything, well that won't happen. The only course of action is to clean house and that won't happen either.

From the article.

We ignore the polls. Thus, our conclusions about individual races often differ from the conventional wisdom

PA,
Thanks for the quote and the link. I have printed this and will take it to the local Democratic headquarters. Urging them to double their efforts. With the neocons having 100 million in corporate lobbyists dollars, our only chance comes from firing up the foot soldiers.

Wasn't the prediction in 2004 that the Democrats would win the Presidency, Senate and the House?

... and in 2002
... and in 2000
... and in 1998
... and in 1996
... and in 1994

people vote, then canidates win or lose. I'll hedge and wait to see the final returns, not the exit polls, or the opinion polls. I'll bet on the horses for my speculative needs.

The Prediction stated in this thread , using the Barrons article, is that the Republicans will control the house.

For that to happen, it would take Rove calling Diebold to put the fix in. Afterall, it happens in horse races.

Sun Oct 22, 2006 2:21am ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - More than half of Americans, 55 percent, would like to see Democrats take control of Congress, according to a poll by Newsweek magazine released on Saturday.

The poll of 1,000 likely voters found that 55 percent would choose a Democrat to represent their district if the vote were held now, and 37 percent said they would vote Republican.

Hi T.D.
I am doing allright. Just got back from the Doc and he gave me a clean bill of health. I don't have any idea how many people are on the blogs supporting the Dems. I am not getting paid for anything I do in the political arena. Prior to going to the doctor I went down to the local Dem hdqtrs with the print of PA's link. I spent about an hour there stuffing envelopes. This evening I will be going to my daughters house for dinner with her family. Her husband makes a lot of money and votes Republican but other then that he is a nice fellow. And how are you today ?

That is amazing. "Other than that, he is a nice fellow" only in Liberal America would "making a lot of money" be a crime and something to detract away from your outlook on a son-in-law. The fact that he chooses to be a Republican and hand in hand making a lot of money must make you purely sick at the travesty your daughter has wrought upon the family. Simply Amazing........

Fire up the boots, eh Ljb......and they will kick yer arse like they did in 2004! ;)

Guys, Amercians are not stupid people- the repubs will retain control. And we can thank Nancy Pelosi for that. Nobody with any intelligence is going to vote for a party that will put her in a position of power. Oh, dems will win in San Fran, but in real Ameica?
Have no fears......the polls mean nothing. Again.
The terroists support dems.....why do you think that is?

Making a lot of money does not bother me. It's the republican voting that bothers me. Of course you already knew that and just chose to parse out the part that fit your goals. Sheesh
