The Message Board feature has been retired.

As with any product, it was time to focus time and resources to develop a better product, worthy of what our members have come to expect from Youbet.com.

Please stay tuned for a future announcement as to when a new messaging product will be launched.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Probably didn't want to hear the flack from their ringing endorsment of the recent gambling legislation.

October 13, 2006

To Our Shareholders:

Today, the President signed into law legislation that exempts
Youbet.com and other advanced deposit wagering companies in the horse
racing industry from Internet gaming prohibitions. Specifically, the
law "exclude(s) from the definition of 'unlawful Internet wagering'
any activity that is allowed under the Interstate Horseracing Act of
1978, as amended."

This exemption from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of
2006, which prohibits the use of credit in connection with unlawful
Internet wagering, is good news for racing and for Youbet.com. It sets
a strong foundation for the future of pari-mutuel account wagering and
is consistent with Youbet initiatives to set high standards for
integrity and transparency in all facets of horse racing.
Because the law prohibits wagering with off-shore bookmaking and other
illegal entities that have been accepting bets on horse races - and
paying nothing to horsemen and tracks for the privilege - our
domestically licensed pari-mutuel phone subsidiary, IRG, is also a
beneficiary of the legislation.

Online wagering services are to this generation what simulcasting and
off-track-betting were to previous generations of horse racing fans.
With passage of this formidable new legislation for horse racing and
the protection it provides to online account wagering entities, Youbet
is poised to widen its leadership in the use of Internet technologies
to increase interest in and wagering on horse races.

Congratulations to the American Horse Council and the numerous other
racing associations and organizations - including our own legal and
public affairs staffs - for the fine work they did to help Congress
understand the effect that adverse legislation might have had on the
horse racing industry and its half million tax-paying employees.

Sincerely,

/s/
Charles F. Champion
President & Chief Executive Officer

This legislation has removed countless dollars from the online wagering community. Perhaps horseracing didn't get many of those dollars, but they at least had a shot at them. Now they don't.

Youbet needs to get more 'on top of things' as far as current and fresh information goes. I can't tell you how many times Youbet had incorrect rider information displayed. Youbet is good as far as reporting late scratches, as soon as a horse is late scratched, they put the red line thru the horse....but, ask them to give you an update on a late rider change its like getting blood from a stone.
