Just finished with a new book. Micheal Lewis of Moneyball fame has written an incredible look into the business side of football. The Blind side: Evolution of a Game.

Quarterbacks, of course, are the highest paid salaries at an average of $8 million. Who would you think are the next highest paid? Running back, superstar wide receiver, middle linebacker? Non of the above. The answer: left tackle!!!

The left tackle protects a right handed QB's blindside from pass rushers. You may remember one of the fiercest was New York Giant Lawrence Taylor. During a monday night game in 1985, LT blindsided Redskins QB Joe Theismann. Two leg bones were broken and one of them piercing the flesh. LT's blindsided hit was perfectly legal and ended Theismann's career.

Micheal Lewis writes “ When a star running back or wide receiver is injured, the coaches worry about their game plan. When a star QB gets hurt, the coaches worry about their jobs.”

If you liked Lewis' Moneyball, you will love The blindsided.

Isn't there a horse running named Lewis Micheal any connection?
