The lineup the Yankees put on the field last night just wasn't fair

Johnny Damon CF
Derek Jeter SS
Bobby Abreu RF
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Jason Giambi DH
Gary Sheffield 1B
Hideki Matsui LF
Jorge Posada C
Robinson Cano 2B

The 9th place hitter is #2 in batting average in the AL for gods sake. Every one of them has been an All Star. Bernie Williams and Melky Cabrerra both came off the bench last night to get hits as well. They get any pitching at all they will take the WS home again this year.

reminds me of 2004 sox. #9 hitter , batting .302 with 17 dingers, 150 hits, 87 rbi's, and a slugging % that would put him 5th in a National League Lineup.

Merciless poundings of mortal baseball teams.

I can't believe cano this year. He is turning into the best hitting 2b in all of baseball.

I don't think he's close to the hitter that Chase Utley is.. He is good though..

I'm pulling for the Yanks to lose at least 2 of their last 3 for an under futures bet. My White Sox under 91 1/2 is now a definite win and barring some miracle, so will the Bonds under 35 1/2 home runs. But I have to give the sportsbooks credit on these season win totals for the Yankees and White Sox. Both came right down to the wire.

I picked up their pitcher in my Fantasy League because I need a few more wins. I was going to take him giving up runs, even 5 if need be.

The BIG reason was that with Sheffield and Giambi back, HOW could they lose? Even with Jeter sitting out, they still should score 6 runs minimum with that line-up.

A long time ago, someone said ANYTHING can happen, that is why they play the games.

The last thing Torre wants to do is go into the Playoffs with a losing streak, so look for them to correct the situation tonight, BIG TIME!!!

PA-

I told you about 2 months ago that the Yanks UNDER 97 1/2 was never in doubt. Never a sweat. :)

Nice job, Blue Jays, for not mailing it in for the final 2 games.

WOW! You have to give it up for whoever made that line! In a season of 162 games over 6 months anything can happen.

To make the number 97 and then put the hook on it is just amazing! That would be the same number they make if they did it today AFTER the season ended!

I am going to take a look at thes lines next year.

And congrats on going under! I won't be mentioning that you paid off Bernie Williams to manage the game so you could cash. :D

Thank the Red Sox for throwing in the towel so they coasted the last 3 weeks and lost a few they wouldn't have otherwise. Makes me wonder what the Red Sox over/under line was as most pundits had them beating the Yanks this year....

I cashed on the White Sox UNDER 91 1/2 as well (they finished with 90 wins) so they were spot on in that prediction. But the easiest cash of all was Bonds UNDER 35 1/2 home runs. That one wasn't close. But whoever is doing season O/U win totals did their homework.
