It looks like it's down to 4 main contenders. I'm really impressed with Deep Impact. If his past races were any indication of what is to follow, he should be amazing despite the layoff.. Rail Link seems interesting too, esp if the odds climb higher..

Given the national obsession with Deep Impact, even the scientists at the JRA Equine Research Institute (http://japanracing.jp/_news2006/060817-02.html) have caught the bug!

Been reading the articles there seen like a very tough field. If Deep Impact can do it ,it would do his dad proud.

Deep Impact is vunerable he is too far back for my liking. I hope I'm wrong if he wins this race. He would have to be listed as one of the all time best. Seabrid,Ribot to name a few.

MOST Arc winners come from the clouds but remember it is UP HILL in the lane there in Paris.

This year's Arc looks an excellent renewal with outstanding horses such as Shirocco, Hurricane Run, Deep Impact and Rail Link all going to post.

Watch out also for the Prix de L'Opera, which is run on Sunday at Longchamp before the Arc , because just about everyone of Europe's best 8/12 furlong fillies - Ouija Board, Alexandrova, Nannina, Mandesha,Alexander Goldrun - is an intended runner.
