What tracks do you prefer? I grew up in the midwest ( Hawthorne ) and now live in Ca. ( Santa Anita ) but for whatever reason i seem to have the most luck on the east coast. I don't know why. Iv'e had good and bad days everywhere but the east coast tracks especially the New York tracks i seem to do better.

just a thought, but i would think that you "cap early", lean in that direction.

also, you may tend to bet the chalky side.

hey nothing wrong, with either.

The internet allows us to cherry pick to our strengths. The best thing to do is to run experiments at various courses to see how you style fits what they are giving you. I went through about 30 tracks (on paper) before deciding on a few (MOSTLY on the East coast) which fit the way my software works. There is NO easy answer.

I do my best in cold wet weather.....seems that the crowd misses something there.

Become a specialist. Hunt where the "Crowds" (sheets Thorograph) does not go at the smaller venues.

West Coast is the Best Coast for me

I also do well at Lone Star and LA Downs

Hawthorne, where local knowledge has a greater edge than usual, especially during the fall meet. Handicappers using pace-generated software usually have it tough at Hawthorne. Better for the local cognoscenti.

I would agree with the first part of that, mainly because trainer knowledge is probably the most important factor there, and daily bias notes is probably second best. But pace is still important there; good pace plays come up fairly regularly.

One note: so far, early speed has been TERRIBLE on the grass at Hawthorne.

I never said pace wasn't important there.

I enjoy playing the majors on both coasts, but as far as having the most success, I gravitate to the Southwest--Sunland, Lone Star, Houston, Retama, even Oaklawn. Or some of the Louisiana tracks like Delta and Evangeline. On the major circuit, I handicap best at Churchill and Saratoga.
