"It has been difficult, nevertheless, to conclude as I have, that the Republican House leadership has been so unalterably corrupted by power and money that reasonable Republicans should support Democrats against DeLay-type Republican incumbents in 2006."

Pete McCloskey, Dublin, California. July 26, 2006

I'd vote for Bin Laden before I voted for a democrat.

I lived in Stockton and vote at times for both Pombo and Mcclusky.
Mcclusky was put up against Pombo by Demos and other who knew the only chance they had to get the most liberal person possible into that office was to find an old politician that still had name recognition. The results tell the story in a political area (San Joaquin County) that regularly votes Demos into various offices.
I was in Stockton when Pombo first ran for Congress- he is from one of the richest families in the area, into land and real estate. His nickname there is "Little Joe"!
Pombo's first campaign had 1 main issue- help enrich the farmers in the Central Valley, since his family is one of the richest! 1 reason he was voted in is that many Democrat voters work for Tri-Valley Growers and other businesses in farming and in canning. There is more than 1 casino within 50 miles in the foothills.
I worked for the California Democrat Party in Ca by the hour signing up voters and the local boss got mad at me because I corrected her that slave-free Lincoln was the 16th Pres and Repub, not 14th Pres and Demo as this boss/politacl science major claimed. At the end of the election cycle everyone including me was let go by being given a last check after being told to come in to work, and laid off without being paid 2 hours show-up time as required by law.
The Ca Demo party refused to pay me the 2 hours pay until I filed a complaint with the labor commission, then went to Demo incumbent Assemblyman Johnson's office and threatened to go to the press. I was paid the next week.
P.S.- I went to a Gov. Wilson and the Repub's Victory parties- the Repubs had a good band and good food and champagne and I met Pombo there.

More hypocracy. The hypocracy I have come to expect for this elitist power hungry political party.

What is bothersome is their lack of real historical knowledge, in favor of this revisionist history. It is persuasive.

Kenwoodall, do you know if they had an illegal immigrants circulating petitions?

I'd vote for George Bush before I voted for Bin Laden.

I guess we see things a little differently.

Too much hassle registering to vote or working signing up voters for most people to do, even most poor do not hassle filling out voter registration forms.
The problem I ran into with the Demos is they want to pay cheap, by thehour. Erpubs pay by the signature and more independently so you can make more money faster on your own. Demos I worked for never wanted to admit they could be wrong, about Lincoln OR labor laws.

The lib vs con, the rep vs dem, is too old & clinging to it only helps evil doers.
If any labels function as red flags these do. I know its fun to pretend YOU
belong to some group, especilally if that group is in power, like the republicans
and cons are, but really, do the powerful know YOU, care about YOU, lol, of
course they don't. And from what I see this government under Bush has
MUSHROOMED & gone into huge debt doing so. So why not deal with your
legacy a few years down the road, and that legacy isn't pretty looking.
Sorta like Paris Hilton in cuffs.
