I just found out the old guy had to be vanned off after yesterday's 5th at Philly. More bad news. Unfortunate things continue to happen, this is another one. Watched this one for years run well.

He was put down that day. Damn shame.

Lake was last trainer- 9-6 was the 13th race for the horse in 2006. Everybody ran the hell out of it. Lake worked it July 8, raced it July 10 ("used up early"), then gave the horse a whole 21 days rest!

He broke well, had an easy lead and looked like the winner when he was pulled up. Track was sloppy, but he was moving well on it.
