I can't say I'm surprised some non-racing people are objecting to the tracks purse accounts benefitting from slots. So purses skyrocketed at Prairie Meadows and Mountaineer......what happened to the supposed influx of superior horses? A better long term solution: lower the takeout.

Here is what the Iowa breeder's Ass. says- (Ia breeding paralells purse size)---"http://www.iowathoroughbred.com/industrystats.html"
Like I say, breeding is where the money is and who benefits.

I read where Charles Town or another track cut purses of allowance races because the slot money leveled off or dropped a bit.

Yes I am.
Objectivisim is the backbone of my handicapping. It keeps me focused on what wins races.
When I go into a slump I'll reread Ayn Rand's non fiction books,(and the handicapping books I use) to get back to winning.
