This can only be a good thing. At least a horse has a chance for a decent life when their racing career is over. Better the alpo truck waiting to pick them up. This is common up there, as it's usually the last stop for many in their racing career. Thats the ugly part of the game. What can you do? Finger Lakes is doing a good thing. Hopefully it will be success.

And call us a "minor league" track!

Hey, not only that, but a couple of years ago, they held an autction to place retired horses in good homes. Come to find out, a broker got in somehow and got a hold of some horses. they went out and tracked them alldown and aved them.
We don't have an Pletcher's here ( we do have Oscar's son and an Dutrow) who drop in, see how the stable is going - we got guys here who eat breakfast in the stalls. Lots of caring people - hat's off to this project.
It just shows - it CAN be done.
