My girlfriend has been going to this hairdresser for about 2 years now. They always chit chat I guess...anyway my ladyfriend tells her we're going to Del Mar next week...this lady starts talking about how when she was growing up her dad always took her to Santa Anita, etc. This lady has talked about her dad on and off before.
She mentions something else about her dad is in Europe now with his wife, doing a show. Marybeth asks her:
"What kind of show?:
"Oh, his wife (this is his 8th wife she says) is a singer, its a song and dance. They're working some place my dad worked with Judy one time."
"Judy who?"
"Oh, Judy Garland."
"Who is your dad?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you knew, I can never remember who I've told...I thought it had come up before, my dad is Mickey Rooney"
I thought that was pretty funny...shes been going to this lady for two years. I'm just wondering if there is some way I can finagle some National Velvet memorabilia out of this......that would be sweet.
