Did anyone else notice that the whitney has been decided by a little over a neck the last 3 years? In 04 roses in may won it by a nose, 05 commentator by a neck, and this year invasor by a nose. They were all thrilling stretch duels.

I can't ever remember a major race having a 3 year stretch like this.

Whitney trivia - 25 years ago this year - Fio Rito, Finger Lakes Shipper, broke thrugh the gate, was reloaded, and went on to win and become the first NY Bred to win a G1 stakes.

He followed it up with a win next out in the Graded Michigan Mile at old Detroit Racecourse.
