I am looking for a handicapping book that was put out in 1979 called
My $5000 month at the race track. The author went to the track with his
students and they handicapped the races. I dont remember his name. His
method looked at the second, third and final call lengths of each horses
last race. He was looking for early and closing speed only. He called other
as dull and rough races. The book was filled with examples from racing form. If anyone knows or has this book e-mail me at

reb9@cox.net Thanks
Richard

Taking your students to the track sounds like something that Prof. Gordon Jones would do. However, I can't recall reading about the example that you cite.

Sounds like a book by Larry Voegle (sp?) - I have a rather hazy memory of it...

Gee I thought I knew them all! The only one that sounds close is

Payoff! $9,800 in Five Weeks - a Step-By-Step Course Guaranteed to Make You a Master Handicapper (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=656228840&searchurl=y%3D7%26kn%3Dvoegele%26bsi%3D60%26x%3D16 ) by Larry Voegele. Thick paperbound book. And Voegele used the terms rough and dull. There's a few on ABEBOOKS:

The latest issue of American Turf Monthly contains an ad from ATM offering My $50,000 Year at the Races at a reduced price ($9.95). (It's also on the ATM website (www.americanturf.com (http://www.americanturf.com/scripts/item.cfm?itemid=56&itmcnt=1&eflag=0&search=My%20$50,000%20Year%20at%20the%20Races&secid=10&catalogname=wincommerce)) at that same price.)

Didn't Mike Fiore teach a handicapping course in college?
