the vast majority come from two sources: baby races where the trainer doesn't want TODAY to be the first experience for his maiden runner and OFF THE TURF. What is so strange about that???

I count 2 regular scratches plus 4 from an also eligible list. The rest are all from races taken off the turf. That's not bad in my book. Seems like that many scratch at Delaware every weekend day
