Its pretty cool. I have some problems with some of McCain's positions, specifically restricting free speech in the name of campaign finance reform, but his family has shown that they have balls. One son in the Naval Academy, and the other going into the Marines. Big thumbs up from me.

My personal choice for our next President.

The question is, can anyone be elected after switching parties?

I have major political issues with McCain, but as a person, and a vet, I have nothing but respect for him. His son is following his beliefs and his Dad supports him, in spite of the risks.

God Bless them both for their service to freedom.

Yes, but they didn't have the internet in Abe's day.

I too have concerns about him in the White House on several policy issues including immigration. By the time the elections roll around he'll be 72.

Though what he endured in Viet Nam and who he is as a human being who's a straight shooter - he's a heck of a guy.

I've always liked McCain. T'was a shame what BushCo did to him, his wife, and children during the election. Very nice of Time to do a complimentary piece on his Kids. I remember after McCain beat Bush in Iowa and New Hampshire... Bush got push polls going in South Carolina advising Republican voters that McCain had adopted black children. ( in truth from bangladesh )...also, they led a whispering campaign about his mental capacity, and what affect 6 years in a POW camp might have had on him....
May not matter anyway... Polls show Americans preferring a Democratic President at a whopping 50-31.

Polls today are like betting on the first horse in the paddock. :bang:

or worse. But since the topic veered into MCcains Presidential candidacy I figured I'd toss it in.

Are you always going to bring this up whenever McCain is mentioned? How many times is enough?

You know, it's almost like McCain is a singer/rock star or a wanna be comedian.
