RACE 1
5. STELLA’S POSADA was simply overmatched in latest when trying stakes company up North after running a decent third in a small Hollywood stake. Broke maiden by 7 at first asking beating $40K claimers and this is a logical spot for this Doug O’Neill trainee.
3. LOYOAL NAVIGATOR connections toyed with running this one in the Graduation yesterday at Del Mar but scratched out to run in this spot instead. Easily dispatched of maiden claimers in debut.
4. HOT WIRED also broke maiden at first asking beating $40K claimers after being 3-eide on the turn and rallying for the win. Beat Dyno Dog in debut who came back to break maiden the next out.

RACE 2
6. PAPA’S DELIGHT steps up a bit making his second start after a long layoff for trainer Bruce Headley. This 6-year-old gelding by Afternoon Deelites has obviously had some physical problems as this will be just his third career start. Was 3-wide in latest while closing stoutly to finish third, beaten by 3 three lengths.
8.ESPRESO LOVE takes the blinks off again after running fourth last time with them on against similar.
7. DIAMOND MINER drops for trainer Bob Baffert after running a non-threatening second against $80K claimers last out.

RACE 3
4. PEACEFUL LOVE makes her third start after a layoff for trainer Jeff Mullins and this one showed marked improvement in the second run earning an 88 Beyer while running second against similar. They had high expectations when getting this one as her first run in the states, three back, was in the Grade I Del Mar Oaks.
6. SMOOVE makes her second start after a layoff for trainer Craig Dollase who hits with 22 percent of those. Dollase off to a good Del Mar start with a pair of wins and a second in 5 starts.
8. GLASSY was claimed last out while beating lesser on the turf by a trainer who wins with 27 percent of his first-claim starters. This one has 4 wins in 14 lifetime turf starts.

RACE 4
4. PEAK IN A HURRY drops from the maiden special weight races for O’Neill who wins with 21 percent of his runners making that drop. This one was not embarrassed facing better and could boss these.
2. KISS THE COOKE debuts for trainer Art Sherman (20 percent with firsters) with some nice works for debut.
5. STEVE’S LIL GIRL drops back to the claiming ranks after running a apir of fourths against better.

RACE 5
4. PAPA SQUIRREL has had three chances to break through from this condition but if you look at this one’s running lines you see a good race followed by a bad race. Ran seventh last out so this one is primed for a good run under Espinoza who has stuck with this runner for the last four races.
6. HANDSOME LOVER steps up for trainer Bill Spawr after breaking the maiden in 10th attempt. This horse may not like to win, but she has hit the board in 6 of 10 lifetime.
2. DOPPIO earned an 87 Beyer last out while breaking maiden when returning from a long layoff. Trainer Carla Gaines is exceptional (23 percent) stretching out her runners.

RACE 6
4. OLIVER TRAVELS adds blinks today and returns to the turf for trainer Wesley Ward who is off to a great start at the meet and excels with runners coming back from a long layoff (23 percent) and with horses going from dirt/turf (22 percent).
5. ANDOVER THE CASH ran fourth last out after bobbling at the start under Espinoza. This filly is by Unusual Heat who has had an amazing impact on turf races in Southern California. Should sit a nice stalking trip in this one.
9. CHATI VALLEY steps up and makes her second run after a layoff. This one has four wins in 10 lifetime starts and is 1 for 2 on turf.

RACE 7
2. SMOKEY STOVER earned a gaudy 105 Beyer in latest winning a small stake at Golden Gate back in April. Trainer is 3 for 9 with runners coming back after a layoff and 44 percent with runners who won their last start.
3. RECORD drops for Baffert and makes his second start after a layoff. Bobbled a bit at the start in his last run in the Grade III Affirmed when running behind the likes of AP Warrior and Pint Determined.
4. REFINERY showed nothing in last finishing 8th going 7.5 furlongs. Has three wins and a second-place finish in 7 lifetime starts for trainer Mike Harrington.

RACE 8
2. KEY LIME TIME ran third last out against similar and will be making her second start after a layoff for O’Neill (23 percent). This one has only raced twice so she has not proven she is a lifetime maiden like many of these in here.
9. RACY ACK was the beaten favorite last out for Baffert against similar after saving ground and not having enough through the stretch. This is this one’s 9th start as a maiden
12. REBELLIOUS like the outside draw for this one making her 11th start as a maiden and like the switch to hot apprentice rider Martin Garcia. Shows a decent 5-furlong work at Del Mar July 21.
