Public domain horse art?

Anyone know of photos, graphics, etc., that are horse-racing related that are in the public domain --(free of copyright restrictions)?

Or if anyone has some cool stuff I can use for my blog. Pictures of Holy Bull for example or Secretariat, etc.

This will get you started!
Anything prior to 1954 shoulod be public domain by now, anything owned by the Feds is public Domain. Anything copyrightable in effect now should be tagged with the original copyright date of after 1954 (52 years length until 1974, then life of "author" + so many years; the single print from a collection not compiled by the original copyright owner may still be public domain).
You can also ask permission to use it wothout charge for whatever purpose you have.
