Just awhile ago I had one of those computer freeze-up spells, that seem to crop up now and then. Anyone who has had them knows how frustrating they can be, what with the repeated reboots, only to have the freeze-ups occuring again.

Recently, after reading some info on registry cleaners, I decided to purchase a product named REGISTRY MECHANIC. Since using this software, the computer freeze-ups by and large have abated nicely. What I didn't know until after I purchased this product, is that it's only good for a one year license. Oh well, if this registry cleaner prevents frequent computer freeze-ups and perhaps some possible costly visits to the computer repair shop, it still will have been worth the small cost of this product.

I know there are many registry cleaners on the market. Has anyone used any of the other brands? If so, what did you think of them?

Thanks,

Check out the free utilities here

There are a couple of free Registry cleaners included plus a bunch of other decent stuff. Check out CNet and ZDNet too.

In my limited recent experience, spyware, adware and rootkits are the things that seem to cause freeze-ups so the registry cleaners are fairly effective for this. If you aren't checking for viruses (virii?) and other malware, you should.

Registry Mechanic is excellent and you can still use it after a year - you just won't get any upgrades without another payment. They have a special offer on at the moment.
System Mechanic 6 Pro is my second tune-up utility and is also very reliable.
