So, today in Monmouth's sixth race, it was slated for "non-winners of two lifetime." There also were the typical weight restrictions, and the qualification that races of a certain level aren't considered. But, there were several horses in the race that had won two and had done so at a higher level. I'm confused.
The race was labeled at a clm7500b, not as a clm7500n2l. I normally play Belmont and Delaware and haven't seen this. What does the "b" mean, and is it related to the horses not meeting the conditions?

would that be this race?
and were all the horses that won more than 2 races 3 year olds?
The "b" usually means threes are permited with more lifetime wins than the older horses.

You are an interpretive genius. I read that about twenty times and kept applying the later phrase to the entire sentence. And, to think, I used to work for an appellate court interpreting statutory language.
Thanks!

If I am correct, the "b" could also mean that a 3 yr old at $6,500 and a 7 lb. "bug" ("b") can carry 109 lbs vs a 124 lb 4 yr old!LOL!
I wonder why horses retire young?
How about writing 2 yr old races only for female jockeys?

Whenever Philadelphia and Delaware want to screw me out of a live DD or P3, they seem to slip one of those "amateur female rider" races in on me.

The race is for 3 yr olds. 4 yr olds can enter but only if they have never won 3 races.

Are maiden or MCl, starters, claimers, or DQ's counted?

If you're referring to the conditions that Doug posted for the sixth at Monmouth, I assume it would mean lifetime unless the conditions said "which have never won two races other than maiden, claiming, or starter". (I don't believe a race where a horse finishes first but is disqualified would count as a win for those purposes.)
