Hey Zman not sure how you attacted with real cash the first two at the Rock but your right on the cash. Results of 1st were 6-7 which you had 1st and 3rd picks the exacta came back ok on that at $59.20. Result of the 2nd was 7-3 which were your 2nd and 1st picks very nice exacta payoff of $141.40 with that 2nd pick paying a super $55.00. The DD returned $76.00. Hope you had all or some of those payouts. Tks for posting your takes on the Rock Zman that $55.00 horse I used as a cover action bet. Saved the bacon. :jump: Nice work and lets crush the rest of the card.

Great call on the 8 in the 5th, melman. 11-1? What an overlay. Good thing that I didn't look at the trainer stats on the winner. :D I didn't play the ex, I'm sorry to say. I know that you did. :)

Oh btw, I'm back in the saddle or sulky, so to speak.

Tks for the kind words hawg and glad to hear your back in the sulky today worked out just fine for me. Made 12 win bets cashed on two of them. The 5 as a 2nd pick in race 9 was a close win bet call but went the right way. That was a key for the day also as it closed out the pic3 winner. Pic paid $349 on a 2nd pick in R7 and 1st pick on R8 and a 2nd pick on R9. Three straight up winners for the day just bet one of them. Just another hard day at The Rock Mr Hawg. :jump: :jump: :)

Melman,

Nice hits for you there! $137 cold exacta in the 5th and a $349 late pick 3. If we could only hit 'em like this all the time, we could quit our jobs!

I botched the first race (tried for tri's and failed,) but I totally nailed the second. When that 7 started drifting up to 25/1, I shifted to the 7 instead of the 3. Had the horse to win for $3 and the exacta for $5 (and I generally bet no more than $20 a race.) Went soft the rest of the way but that second race carried me to the end. Nice to know you were able to save your bets with the 7!

Oh please, that's only because they don't know how to handicap the trots. For me, the lions share of my bombs have come on the trotters, many of which came on half-mile tracks like Northfield! It's 100 times easier for me to find a $20 winner at the trots than at the flats. In fact, one time picked a $50 horse, a $60 horse and an $100 horse on the same night at Yonkers...on the same card! Will never forget it, happened in 1991. It was one of those nights where six of the twelve races had $50+ winners, two of which paid over $100. And about 75% of my signers have come on the trotters. The only trot tracks that I generally avoid are Monticello, Saratoga and The Meadowlands. Can't wait for Vernon to reopen, that place is like a goldmine for me!

Tried the first three at Hoosier, had the first winner but got killed on the second and third. Oh well. Next big trot day for me will be Wednesday at Rockingham.
