He's a loose cannon. He's having to apologize just about every other week now. Its not just the Mariotti comments; every time he opens his mouth he puts his foot in. Year 1 it was considered "cute". Year 2 the team was so damned good nobody could say anything. The team is still damned good so his job isn't in danger this season. But once the team does have a slide, the rope will be there and he'll hang himself.

He'll be gone by 2009.

He did the same thing with Garland yesterday that he did with the rookie. The guy is pitching a shutout and Ozzie throws a tantrum because Garland didn't hit a Ranger when he was supposed to. The position players probably love this, but Ozzie is in danger of losing his pitching staff. Don't show up your own players in public. I don't care how successful he's been; he won't be managing this team by opening day 2009.

I agree, his act is getting old. It's quite obvious it's all about him now.. He loves the attention.
