It went relatively unnoticed, but when THE ROCK opened its meet last week, it celebrated its 100th Birthday. The 8th oldest track in North America.

The list of people and horses that came through Rockingham Park reads like a who's who of racing in the 20th Century.

Some of the pure harness people get upset but not me. Call them anything even the term "buggies" disturbs some. Been called Jughead a few times no problem at all just like cashing tickets. I think the history of "the rock" is about 97 years t-bred and 3 years s-bred. Had a couple of friends who every summer would take a three or four week trip to the Rock for a great and fairly inexpensive vacation. They stopped when the s-breds came to town. LOL I like the big layout that the Rock has for harness been a very good place to cash tickets. :jump:

I NEVER play the favorite. I might use in an exacta, but if it looks like it will win, I pass the race. My rule of thuumb is NO horse is a deserving favorite.
If all I can get it 9-5 on a horse, I'd rather buy a hot dog :cool:
