Picks for Belmont Sunday:
R1 #6 Festival Queen-Very impressive when breaking her maiden in last. Ran faster than NW1 fillies did later in the day. She should prove to be a worthwhile claim.
R2 #5 Remorse-Ran well despite getting involved in a 3 way battle for the lead early with some honest fractions. Has shown the ability to win from off the pace in the past so he looks like the play here if he goes off anywhere near his ML.
R3 #1 Bobbin-Has run 2 good ones on the turf. Had a nice dirt drill prior to his last race so he may like the move to this surface. Plus the Pletcher/top prime power move won 45% at AQU.
R4 #2 Judith Basin-Well bred runner will probably move forward with the race under her belt. Comes out of the same race as Bobbin, so if she does well move her up a bit more.
R5 #3 Smart Sherif-Has yet to run a bad one. Ran well in debut, so he’s capable of firing fresh.
R6 #7 La Belle Suzine-Ran her best one yet off the cutback in distance last out. Her fig isn’t that far off the 2 ML favs.
R7 #4 Multiple Choice-Sports a sprint turf win in a G3 race a couple of years ago. Obviously not the same runner as back then, but the old timer is fresh and showed signs of life in his last run.
R8 #9 Oprah Winney-Lost her best shot when she had a troubled start last out. She should be long gone here at a short price.
R9 #6 Satin End-Honest runner looks tough here. Runs on or off the pace and doesn’t have much to beat here.
