I've used Pardox for dos from 20 years, and the pal language that goes along with it. I would love to change to something else, but with 10,000 lines of code, it would cost me too much to change. Along with this I use excel to keep track of bets, and to sort for angles on a daily basis. I also use RR report writer to make my daily racing form out of the database files.

I look forward to reading other peoples ideas?

Thanks

Big

I use Access. It supports Paradox imports so it might be a simple matter to convert if you chose to.

Red,

The code from paradox can not be imported. I had to start from scratch and learn the sql language.

Delphi supports Paradox tables. And that's probably true as long as Borland supplies the drivers for x-base & Paradox. If and when that native support goes by the way side, you can either migrate to one of a dozen different x-base 3rd party products that are out there or maintain a back-level version of Delphi. Heck, my D1 and D3 versions are still installed and usable (but I haven't exercised them in a while).

No reason for you to abandon your efforts with the PAL code. Just supplement it with new code using Delphi.

I started to poke around the net earlier looking for PAL to whatever conversion but ran short of time and got more than what I was looking for. PAL is also a term used in video, so, a better search query is needed to narrow down the hit list.

I use Filemaker Pro. It's a wonderful relational database that runs on both on Windows and Macs
