Lacking Biolabs, Trailers Carried Case for War
Administration Pushed Notion of Banned Iraqi Weapons Despite Evidence to Contrary
By Joby Warrick / Washington Post
On May 29, 2003, 50 days after the fall of Baghdad, President Bush proclaimed a fresh victory for his administration in Iraq: Two small trailers captured by U.S. and Kurdish troops had turned out to be long-sought mobile "biological laboratories." He declared, "We have found the weapons of mass destruction."
The claim, repeated by top administration officials for months afterward, was hailed at the time as a vindication of the decision to go to war. But even as Bush spoke, U.S. intelligence officials possessed powerful evidence that it was not true.
BS is right!
YOU tell only the part of the story that suits your agenda. Fact is, and it was prominently mentioned in all the coverage I saw - Bush had not be made aware of that when hemade the statemet.
You would be bounced at FOX - you are not fair or balanced. :p

"I believe we need a fresh start in the Pentagon. We need a leader who understands teamwork, a leader who knows how to build teams, a leader that does it without intimidation," Maj. Gen. John Batiste, who commanded the Germany-based 1st Infantry Division in Iraq, said in an interview on CNN.
In recent weeks, retired Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Gregory Newbold, Army Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton and Marine Corps Gen. Anthony Zinni all spoke out against Rumsfeld. This comes as opinion polls show eroding public support for the 3-year-old war in which about 2,360 U.S. troops have died.

This is the only country in the world where some people think we fight a war without anyone getting killed. Where is their brilliant idea on how to prevent that from happing? I know, some dumb ass will say, don't have any wars, just surrender or try to talk to mad dogs. Just 2,360 for a 3 year war is a freaking miracle beyond belief and no one gets credit for such an achievement. :bang:

Well, what's your answer brilliant man? Pack it in and surrender? Bring all are troops home and screw the rest of the world? Put out peace feelers to OBL and every other terrorist? Go on thinking we don't have any enemy's, it's just a figment of our imagination? 911 didn't really happen? The war would have ended in Afghanistan? Wave a freaking wand and we won't need oil anymore?
I'm waiting to hear your briliant responce on how to fight a war with no deaths.
ESP your brilliant analysis of how the war would have ended with Afghanistan.

from the S.F.Chronicle
On Monday, former Secretary of State Colin Powell told me that he and his department's top experts never believed that Iraq posed an imminent nuclear threat, but that the president followed the misleading advice of Vice President Dick Cheney and the CIA in making the claim. Now he tells us.

Sounds like jihad to me. Sound like what millions oaf muslems werre rioting in the streets for a few weeks ago.
NOBOY did any harm to Bin Laden - HE did this whole jihad thing becaseu of HIS warped religious views - you conveniently forget the most important parts of all the stories, 46 - Bin LAden was upset becasue WE liberated Kuwait and his sorry as was thrown out of Sorry Arabia (neat sentence!)
He launched this whole jihad war because HE had warped religious views. THAT is the fact, oh Zilly one.

Once again, put up or shut up - WHO is profiting from the Iraqi oil? Or are you just staying on topic and offering more BS.
And promoting civil war? Ha! Try the fact hat the Iraqi people are not capable of living free - WE did everyting we could do - we got rid of Sadaam, we protected them through three elections, we helped them write a constitution,
And they just can't get together. This is a pattern eveywherre communsim fell in the 90's - they could not rejoice their freedomn and work together, they had to fight amoungst themsleves, proclaimer their little groups were the superior one and would not tolerate other people. And what is that common thread in all these trouble spots.......Muslems! Muslems cannot get along with anyone - they exist to fight.

Ok, just for the sake of conversation, lets look at it your way. First I have to ask some questions.
First, do you think we were right to invade Afghanistan as a result of 911, not taking into consideration what took place with prior attacks on us?
Second, do you think, as it stands now, Iran is no threat to us or it's neighbors now or prior?
Third, do you think the fundamentalist in Saudi Arabia are and never have been a treat to us and it's neighbors?
4th, do you think Syria is or never has been a threat to us or their neighbors?
5th, do you think the Palestinians aren't a threat to us or Israel.
6th, If we didn't go into Iraq, do you think Saddam and his henchmen wouldn't have supported OBL and the Tallibon against us? Like wise, Syria, Iran and other terror elements in the middle east?
7th do you think if we didn't go into Iraq, we wouldn't have to worry about any more attacks here or abroad?
8th, do you think, it's ok for Iran to have nukes and they are no threat to us and they wouldn't pass a dirty bomb on to anyone who would harm us?
If you answer the questions, I'll have some idea as to what you think about the whole problem.

Your posting here and in the racing section makes it fairly obvious that you look down your nose at most folks and regard the opinions of most people with nothing but disdain. So, why do you insist on spending so much time bickering with people you think you are superior to?

Well, I'll talk horses with anyone that understands the game and I'll answer any question put to me about handicapping, politics or any other subject I have the knowledge about. Even in disagreement, I would never say you or anyone else they don't mean a rats ass to me. That says a lot about you, enough said.

Here's my question. Do you still beat your wife?
Some of your questions are misleading.
On the other hand, I think all of your questions have been addressed in one form or another by myself and others. By now I think my position is clear.
A general point. The nuclear genie is WAY out of the bottle. Bombing and obliterating any one that our leaders think might be a threat SOMEWHERE down the road will waste our military, and provoke a global blowback catastrophe. Something other than killing untold millions of civilians and innocents, would be more effective, practical and moral.

Talk about missleading, When did our leaders at anytime say they would nuke anyone that's a threat to us? I sure as hell didn't suggest that.
What's so missleading about asking someone their opinion on any question, regardless of how it's asked?

I think, judging by his presence here and on other boards, he is a lonely, inignificant little weasle, afraid to face people in the real world, so he "gets brave" on the internet. He is disrespectful to everyone on all the boards I have seen him on. I think he needs to prove to himself that he is not irellevant, but alas, he cannot. I think 46 describes his real height, 4 foot six, not six foot three.
He has NEVER offerd a real opinion based on a fac, never offered evidence of anything, bever offered a potential solution to a problem, and alwys disappears when challenged.
On the racing side, he talks down to the players here, yet has never once posted a selection before the race was run - only boasts about how the winner was a gimme becasue it was early.
He seems to have a great inferiority complex, and needs desperatley to make himself believe it not true.
Sadly, it IS true.
