Please help me with this puzzle.
Tuesday 4/4 I played a $1 pick 4.
7) 1
8) all
9) 178
10) 57
Cost was $48. The $2 payoff was $438.40. I was home when I read the results, so figured I'd collect $219.20.
Today I put the ticket in the SAM and it spit out $876.80.
The 8th race of 8 horses had one late scratch, and the 9th had a late scratch of the 7.
If I got a consolation wins for the 2 scratched horses, why did it pay 4 times my bet? And if I got consolation wins, that explains why it didn't trigger a W2G form.
Also I played a $1 pick 3 with my 8,9,10 picks from my pick 4. The dollar payoff was $19.60. I didn't notice what I got paid since it was low enough, to fly under the radar, but did I collect $19.60 or 2, 3, or 4 times that with sonsolation wins?
I happily cashed the tickets, but I'd like to find out why?
Thanks in advance.
