FURIOUS punters and racing officials have blasted Channel 7 for its coverage of Golden Slipper Day after the station sacrificed the first two hours in favour of the Davis Cup tennis in Melbourne.

As Aussies Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley fought their way through the five-set clash against Belarus, race fans missed the first five events at Rosehill, including the Group One Arrowfield Stud Stakes and feature race The BMW.

Angry punters yesterday swamped talkback radio, racing internet forums and The Daily Telegraph to criticise the TV coverage.
