Adding memory to laptop ?

Son just bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Problem is it has only 256k of memory. I have added memory to desktops in past but not laptops. Can this be done with a reasonable amount of difficulty/expense ?

its real easy but lt ram costs a bit more than desktop ram.If you buy on ebay there are sellers that tell u what to buy and give pictures of how to install.
Also the puters website has directions.Heck I did it and I'm a novice.LL
