To get free live video of thoroughbred races these days, you usually have to be a customer of an online betting site.

However, there are a couple of sites that I know of, that provide free live video without any pre-conditions:

http://horseracing.sportsline.com/cbs/liveracing/

http://www.phillypark.com/video/index.html

http://www.stampede-park.com

--Only problem I've found with the CBS SPORTSLINE site, is that I can't access most of the tracks they list as having 'live video available'. I have to assume they only have available so much bandwith, and if they're over the limit you're out of luck. Has anyone been having trouble accessing the Philadelphia Park live video lately?

I still have trouble accessing live video at the CBS SPORTSLINE.COM website for most tracks. I can sometimes get the harness racing videos to work at some of the minor league tracks, but not the thoroughbred racing videos. Is anyone else having these kind of problems? If you generally have an easy time accessing the thoroughbred live videos, can you pass along some tips to make them work better for me.

Thanks,

Some tracks have free replays within a minute or so after the race is official, if you can't get Sportsline. Keeneland and Hawthorne are two that do offer free replays.

I even tried the ESPN horse racing site. Same story. Live videos won't work.
So, I'm wondering what's the problem. Bandwith issues? Security settings? There must be someone that has some remedies, clues or answers. What's everyone else's experience re the live videos at the CBS Sportsline and ESPN horse racing sites?

Thanks,

AQUEBUCKS,

Thanks for the tip, but BRISBET is not available to Canadians. Nevertheless, I sure would be interested in other PA members' experiences in gaining access to the live videos at the CBS SPORTSLINE or ESPN horse racing websites. It would be nice if someone would either say "Yes"....that they've had no problems accessing the live videos or "No" they're encountering the same difficulties as I am. So far, nobody has said anything one way or the other.

ESPN used to work fine for me... now it doesn't work at all, and I've given up trying.

Trying2win.....Try the site yesman3000 suggested. Go to the harness site claick on thoroughbreds, then choose Mountainerr for example, and you have free video. Also try the Remington site. Then you will see several tracks listed down the left hand side. Click on each track. Some will say free live video and steer you to Youbet where they want you to open an account, but others just show a box saying dial-up or broadband. Click on there and you have free video. I live in B.C. and it works for me. For Aqueduct go to NYRA.com, click on replays, sign up fpr free and get the replays usually about one min. after the race is official. Thanks to Suff for pointing that one out.

Good luck.

T2W,

I also find the CBS SportsLine site (http://horseracing.sportsline.com/cbs/liveracing/) shows some tracks freely and links to Youbet for others - no good for us Canadians. Both Internet Explorer and Firefox work. I watch TAM, BEU, CT, HAW, perhaps others: anything with the little video icon next to the track listing.

Don't know the reason for the general apathy for responding to my question here. Anyways, thanks to the handful that did go to the CBS SPORTSLINE or ESPN horse racing websites, to test out the videos there and relate their experiences.

It's kind of strange, that some PA members seem to have no trouble in accessing a lot of the thoroghbred racing videos at these sites, but I can't.

I just rolled back WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER from Version 10 to Version 9. At the CBS SPORTSLINE site, Delaware Park, Fort Erie and Suffolk Downs videos all work fine on this day. With Version 10 I had great difficulty in getting the thoroughbred videos to work. Very strange! Hmmm...I wonder if it's because version 10 has too many bugs in it, or is it because online traffic isn't as busy on a Monday?

Guess I'll just keep Version 9 on and see how the access to the live videos are later on in the week.

Right now (Monday afternoon), I'm using Firefox and Windows Media Player 10 with WinXp Sp2, and getting FE, SUF, DEL and FL (all the tracks with the Live Video icon) at http://horseracing.sportsline.com/cbs/liveracing/ (CBS Sportsline). I usually am able to get all these tracks - the rest refer you to Youbet.com. It also works the same for me with Internet Explorer browser. Your difficulties would seem to be related to some other software conflicts...

I signed with Youbet.net for a 'fun' account to see what video is available. Some was, some wasn't...
