Hey bdhsheets: What kind of blues does Luther Allison do? I like some stuff by Taj Mahal. I prefer more of a rock and roll type blues. The last album I purchased was Oasis Live. It's really good if you like newer style hardish rock. It works for me and I'm middle aged.

Luther Allison was a guitarist. He was backed up by horns, piano, organ depending on the song. Style I'd charachterize more or less uptempo rock, but enough old style soul to mellow things out. Just turned 50, not sure if that's an old fart or middle aged!!!! ha ha ha

Give it a shot, you won't regret it.

I'll put it on my list of CD's to purchase. Another super up-tempo blues rock n' roll CD that I'm going to have to re-buy(I gave mine away) is J.Geils Band Full House. Recorded live in Detroit around 1971. One of my favourites.
