Bloodhorse says NY is voting today on a rebate program NYRA proposted. Anyone think it'll pass?

Yes and with a 1% upping in the regular wagering (win, place & show) takeout only.

Thoroughbred Times has the story .. doesn't mention anything about a 1% increase in W-P-S takeout, though.

Is that the way most rebate programs work --- you have to bet $2000 for the month before the minimum program even kicks in?

I think I know some people who probably wager $2000 in a day! Just a guess, but I wouldn't be shocked.

Then the first day of every month the person would not be eligible?

My understanding is the reward is based on total points earned during the month. So while points reset back to 0 on day 1 of the month, if a person was earning 2,000 points per day .. but the end of a 30-day month .. they would have 60,000 points. But maybe I'm not understanding the Thoroughbred Times description.
