I have my statistics down for the current Beulah track meet and see

something out of whack

I usually pick 4 horses using my software and here is how it shapes up:

1st choice 13 % 7.46
2nd choice 6 % 8.16
3rd choice 9 % 7.63
4th choice 20 % 21.90

I am strictly a win bettor and was wondering if I should just use a progression or % o bankroll on the 4th choice alone. my longest runout in
the 4th spot has been 18 races... Everybody says keep records and now that I have them what to do what to do ??? Can anyone help me :bang:

For what it's worth everything looks normal to me:

odds rank win pct
1 30.87%
2 18.04%
3 15.03%
4 11.98%

Am I correct in assuming you have a 13% win rate with an average payoff of 7.46 for your first choice and so on ?
A few more things you may want to look at are morning line of your choices and off odds.
18 race runout for 4th spot. How many races are we talking about 100,200, 2000 ?
I bet basically win also with and occasional exacta on long odds picks.
Don't have any recent data on progression betting but if I recall correctly they did nothing for me. If you still have your records you could test results using progression vs. flat bet.

Exactaplayer,

I'm guessing that those are odds-to-1 rather than mutuels. I hope that's what they are...

Mutuels for $2, I'm sure.
