I dont get it. SInce Eclipse's blood is in 80% or more of horses, wouldnt it just be natural that his body type would be the norm?? Duh. that seems obvious, he's the key sire to most of these horses, so naturally he passes off his conformation on the average.

I think the point of the study was that it showed that the typical t-bred anatomy hasn't changed and the great ones still have the physical attributes of Eclipse. He was basically it and a couple of centuries hasn't changed that. Another point is that there is software that can detect how close physically a new unraced prospect is to this ideal. This is big news if you're spending millions of dollars on a horse.
