Winfixer

I got the winfixer spyware (not the removal they sell you after they infect you, just the damned spyware) on my computer. McAfee, Norton, Pest Patrol, and XoftSpy can't find it to get rid of it.

Anyone out there have any ideas? I can't bring myself to buy another damned anti-spyware/virus program, 4 is enough for me, but I really want to get rid of this thing. I can't figure out where its hiding on my computer.

It's all free, and detailed instrucitons included.
You have to do the tango with each account on your machine.
I recommend you run it is Safe Mode, and run it often - I do the tango every weekend.

Not even sure if spyware removal is part of their suite but AVast at avast.com offers a free antivirus solution. I run it and updates automatically, think it has spyware protection too. Just another security option thought everyone might want to know about.
