For those of you who like to dabble at Philly Park, pay very close attention when you see a horse making its first start off the Ramon Preciado claim. Today Preciado popped with one of these types in the 4th race, Home Hill. Horse was snatched for beaten $7,500, Preciado stepped it up to $12,500, and it wins in a hard-fought stretch battle. The mare had been treading water for $7,500 for most of '05...funny how someone like Preciado can wake 'em up. Bet with both hands when you see another first-off-the-claimer.

Granted, Home Hill was the favorite today but I've seen Preciado score at a price with horses that look like they're in deep.

Hi Doc,

Good angle for Philly:

Earlier this year, he had 3 in one day, and at very good odds!

Can't remember, but I believe one jockey rode all three.

Yes, very nice price for a horse who was tabbed at 12-1 in the morning line (egads, what was the linemaker thinking?). Preciado had another winner, too, dropdown Apollo's Rooks at a generous $12.20...great day at the Pha, indeed.

Hi Doc
what a wild day

I would give the linemaker a break
in race 7 two scratches both @5/1 M/L
and I have no idea what Andrea Gonzalas
is doing with Horse # 8 Papawasarollingbone
Horse is entered last saturday For $5000 at 6 furlongs
scratches but Runs Sunday for $7500
finished last
Everything I see shows this horse is running too
early
Why did she put Papawasarollingbone in a Mile and 70 yards ?
6 days later ?

You can be sure this angle is now on its last legs.

Angle on its last legs? Well, I'm willing to bet it's not:

Tomorrow - 6th race at The Pha - Weather Wizard - snatched for $6,250 NW3L, in for $10,000 NW4L.

Fourth at 3-5. Not bad!
