Compared to cartoons or flushing the Koran this man is a real problem.

" He remarked that the outpouring of rage elicited by cartoons "just shows the kind of people we're dealing with. These people are crazed fanatics, and I want to say it now: I believe it's motivated by demonic power. It is satanic and it's time we recognize what we're dealing with."

Robertson also said that "the goal of Islam, ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, is world domination."

"Robertson also said that "the goal of Islam, ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not, is world domination."

There's plenty of evidence out there to support that. He has said some stupid things in the past, but this isn't one of them.

When I see a Robertson quote, I tend to think the man has completely lost it, but this time I think he's more right than wrong. I would not use the brush to paint such a broad picture of Islam, but I would say that those who have hijacked the religion in the name of fanatacism are certainly evil and desire world domination.

Pat Robertson is a bit of a loose cannon but in no way is he a nut. I have said the same things and think this is spot on. These muslims only understand the law of tooth and fang.

hcp - In the spirit of John Lennon I would like to give peace a chance, but not in the middle east.

Rasta,
I agree with every word of this post. When the House of Saud is overthrown then the sh*t is really gonna hit the fan. These radicals and anyone harboring them MUST be destroyed. Otherwise we will be destroyed.

It is us against them.

Read the book - The West's Last Chance.
It is chilling, and things predicted in the book have alreay taken place in Europe.
Europe today is in peril. and like or not, we cannot afford to let them fall again.

hcap, if you blve this quote is even remotely on par with the fake flushing the Koran story that caused American deaths, or the muslims reacting to cartoons, then you are the one that's lost it.
I too, have flinched at some of Robertson's quotes, but he's right on this time.
And he's not talking about the rank and file Muslims, he's clearly talking about the fanatacs that are terrorizing the world.

Light, this kind of post is why nobody gives libs any credence. Just hateful and demeaning to the Pres and the country that elected him.

46, maybe you just don't like democracy? Did you have the same criticism of Clinton went he went to war in Bosnia? And unlike Iraq, they were no threat to us.
Or maybe you just hate capitalism? If the NY Times had to report recently that all the pundits were amazed at how well the economy here is going?
Or maybe you just hate everything that's non-socialist?

another stupid war

The seven months that I spent in Tuzla were some of the most meangful moments of my life. Seeing the horrors that went on and all the good we did putting an end to it, I cannot comprehend how anyone could think that our going in there was not the right thing to do.

46, so to be consistent, you didn't like or wouldn't have liked FDR either, eh?
If you like or dislike Presidents based on war then you just don't care much for freedom, I guess.

VERY different situation as I had that talk with my father over and over when we differed on the Vietnam war. He finally understood that there has not been a war worth fighting since the 40's

46, the situation we are fighting with these terrorists is much the same as we fght back then when we fought Hitler and Tojo.

46zilzal, I'm sure you have shared this before, but I would be interested in knowing what you think a war is "worth" fighting for.

And just make sure we do not forget, the last time we were on the wining side of a war in the region - Afghanistan, 1988 (yes, CIA turned the tid eof war away from the USSR) - we left the country and did stay to help stabilize it and OBL saw his opening. If you are not going to obliterate the place, you have to stay and fix it. Lesson learned the hard way.

Okay 46, please explain what you meant by a "stupid" war. Did you mean the genocide and ethnic cleansing committed by the Serbs? I will agree, that was stupid. But I took your post to mean that our intervention as a part of a NATO peacekeeping force was "stupid". If your comment was related to the latter, how was our intervention "stupid"?
