Your post took me back to the late '60s when my buddy and I drove up there to bet an Aqueduct refugee called Rome Express whose front-running sprint capabilities appeared to overshadow his local opposition. He was caught of course by a closer called Minado whose every overtaking stride in the stretch seemed a study in slow-motion to sink my stomach and a valuable life lesson was learned.

Your post also took me back to the 60's when i also used to take that 4 hour ride up route 7 in ct. to that little track in pownal,knowing that when you crossed that final railrosd crossing you were finally there.
I also remember that if you played anything but chalk you would have an even longer ride home.
