Round Pound wins duel over Happy Ticket

Virtually a two horse race around the track. Round Pound was game as could be in fending off Happy Ticket late. Great race between these two.

I like Round Pound as well. She will contend for top honors in her divison this year.

That was a great race.

I think the pace was on the slow side and that probably contributed to the fact that neither one of them could get away from the other or the rest of the field.

They were both dead game though. Lot's of fun.

For what it's worth, Happy Ticket was spotting Round Pond 6 pounds due to the way the "dollars won" allowance conditions fell (Round Pond came back off her layoff in an allowance; Happy Ticket came back in a restricted stakes for a lot more money). In fact, Round Pond was low weight in the field of 6.

I don't think Round Pond will be getting weight from her competition any time soon.

Not a knock on Round Pond - just noting that the Azeri set up very well for her weight-wise (and post position wise).
