Because I don't frequent any other boards, I had no idea that bdhsheets passed away last month until someone alerted me via email today (bdhsheets' birthday).

I'll reprint what was sent to me from another board....

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with a heavy heart, that I bring sad news that on Thursday,
February 16th,
friend and fellow handicapper... Gvido Bocka (bdhsheets), passed away.
I learned something everytime I read his posts, and always appreciated
his passion for the game. A gentleman of absolute integrity,
his voice on our forum boards will be greatly missed. Rest in peace,
old friend.

Son of a bitch. One of my men. One of my PA boys. 3 years or so with many private exchanges.

sigh and lots of swear words.

Mr. Sheets.....Thanks. Bet your bottom dollar I play a pony for you.

* On a personal note. Jesus I hope I never die before I finish torturing the deserved.

Sorry to hear of his passing.

It has been a long while since he posted but I recollect him as a kindred spirit.

May he rest in peace.

Regards,
Dave Schwartz

I always thought his name was Gwedo.

I remember him nailing a beauty five years ago or so - $70 or $80?

I was actually thinking about him not too long ago.

I didn't know him but you can "read" people sometimes by what they say and how they say it. I had the feeling he was a sharp, down-to-earth kind of guy.

Sad news indeed.

I never once interacted with this guy, but hearing of this sad news really emphasizes how something like a message board, words on a screen, have such an impact on us. You read his posts, it's almost as if you knew him. My thoughts/prayers go out to his family.

I corresponded with "sheets" for years. He was a sweetheart of a man.
Very sharp horseplayer as well.
He was always looking at handicapping a little different......he used the sheets but he was an original thinker.
RIP...."sheets", Diane will miss you, friend. :(

It always shakes me when a fellow poster passes away, very sad.

He is in heaven now and hopefully playing the horses.

God Bless
