Was wondering with California positioning itself to do away with same-owner entries what everyone thought?
My opinion: I HATE entries of all kinds. Get rid of 'em. Let me pick which one I want and get the price I choose either stronger at shorter price or "weaker" at longer price.

The theory behind entries is that multiple betting interests provide a natural incentive to the connections to stiff one of them.
Check the profitability of the angle of betting a trainer's longest priced entrant in the Kentucky Derby if he has more than one. Real Quiet ($18.00), Thunder Gulch ($50.00), and Charismatic ($63.80) are three examples from the last decade or so alone.
