John Gambling in his morning radio show heard on 770 WABC, said that the 30 million dollar bail out of the NYRA is a complete joke. Furthermore the NYRA will not be able to pay back the 30 million any way, so why bail them out? Bad business in New York State. He also went on to say horseracing in New York is pretty much dead, no one is going, why bail them out? Just his opinion, from one of the pioneer families in New York AM broadcast radio. Actually he makes some vaild pointsm byt racing is certainly not dead, yet.

Your a street guy to some degree right? PIMP pays his ###### rent (1000) buys her food (200) Cloths(600) extras (600) Totals 2400. She hits the street and brings back 8000. Pimp says. " I took care of you"

Its called... OWNING SOMEONE!

Best racing in america. If we were alone in Los angeles we'd do 20 million a day. They compete with no one... we compete with about 16 tracks between Deleware downs, PHILLY, SUFFOLK, NJ, etc ..etc.. never mind our 12 buggy tracks....

why bail them out?

Thats the PIMP ####. Like Saddam Hussian saying he provided electricuty so whats the problem. NY state ###### us out for 25 years.

Speaking of dead.. Thought he was.

Yeah. The "bailout" is "bad business". A.) It's not a "bailout" and B.) It's 100% GOOD business... And I guess the $2B that will come from the VLT's isn't a "pay back". What a joke he is. Racing is so dead and unimportant in New York that it only employs 30,000 people.

Yet another knowledgeless person spewing crap about racing.

It's a good thing the strong racing press in NY will be telling the whole story.

Oh yea, lets give them 30 million so they don't go bankrupt. The contract is up at the end of 2007. Everyone is hoping these VLTS are thier savior, when there is no garuntee they willl get rolling, so it is a bailout. Weather you agree or disaagree with his comment, thats a different story. I was just bringing this up because racing hardly gets any positive news in the media.

It can't be a bailout... no one on WABC would ever come out against a corporate bailout... :D

Mr. monoral AM radio says NY racing is dead? Tell him it is not dead yet, and it is changing and ask him if he knows how racing has been changing and improving; and if he thinks betting is only allowed at the track and if he knows the NY breeding program is in full swing, and that 2003 KY Derby champ FC is based in NY.
