Is it correct to assume that the you all in LA don't really have much wind there. I would also assume that there is much more wind at DMR with it being on the coast? Correct or incorrect?

Thanks in advance...

Prevailing winds in So Cal are from the west.

That creates crosswinds at Hollywood and Los Al; headwinds to runners on the backstreatch at Santa Anita and Del Mar. Generally not a handicapping issue although at SA in the "winter" the winds can get nasty.

Richard's wind review is correct!

I do remember a horrific wind storm at Del Mar, about 12 to 15 years ago.
It created a dust cloud around the entire track, because of the dirt parking lots. It was really a strange day! It affected all the runners as well. Of course, that was a real rarity. Not likely to occur again for sometime, if ever.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. I was curious cause Les (the Quarter horse dude) on TVG said wind was a non factor at Los Alamitos...so I figured there was no wind and it was a non factor for the L.A. tracks.
