Another loss-it seems these last couple of years have seen the passing of a lot of special people.

Bob Lewis, like many of his generation, had a lot of class and treated everyone around him well. We're all the poorer for it. RIP.

Ill never forget the old guy sitting in his wheelchair watching Smarty win the derby,I thought he may have a grabber then. God bess you Mr Chapman. Thankyou for Smarty,

Racing lost a dear friend in Mr Lewis,Im sure we wont see the likes of anyone like him again.

I agree Mr. Lewis was pure class, a good example of how to be as a person and how to enjoy life.

Todays LA Times article (2-18-06) portrayed him as a person who understood the need to invove more people in the racing industry. Through various means, he worked to increase the exposure of the racing world to the rest of the world.

Bob was the Class act of horse racing. Talked to him several times over the past few years. Always was very curteous and asked about my family. We miss you Bob and God Bless.

Now, that was one owner I would have love to have met. He was always happy, no matter if it was a win or lose. He was just "marvelous" as he would often say.
