Hey...

A few very promising horses met a few different fates over the past week. Here's a quick rundown of what's happened.

SARAVA was injured during a workout and probably won't race again this year. As most everyone will remember, he won the Belmont Stakes and was the longest shot to do so in the history of the race. PROUD CITIZEN went under the knife over the weekend and had many screws inserted into his injured leg. The Coolmore Lexington winner should return to training in roughly six or seven months. STARINE, the winner of last year's Diana Handicap at Saratoga, was retired by Bobby Frankel. No injuries were reported, but the five year old mare had run poorly in her last two starts.
I end this report by reprting a tragedy in the world of thoroughbred racing. FRENCH ASSAULT, who ran second to Repent in last year's Kentucky Cup Juvenile and sixth in the Breeder's Cup Juvenile, was euthanized after various ailments plagued him from March to his death.

If anyone has any opinions on these horses, let me know. Thanks!
